During periods of snow, all motor vehicles are prohibited from parking on any Town street. Parking on the street could result in being ticketed and towed. Happy New Year to all. With 2020 behind us, it feels like the beginning of 2020 Season 2. Covid-19 has been unkind and has caused different hardships in every thinkable way for all of us. Covid-19 has left no one untouched.
The Town Board, appointed and elected officials, town consultants, and every town employee worked diligently to safeguard the town of Greenport monies throughout the past year by cutting back on spending, closing the park and programs, and working with each other to have crews that were safe, healthy and able to maintain the town thru it all. Some of these decisions were more difficult for us to make, but know, that all were done to safeguard the town, its residents and visitors during this pandemic. The Town Board is very proud of the budget that we adopted for 2021. With the new union contract that included raises, departmental equipment needs and general operating costs the budget shows a 1.16% increase. Everything else was left as is, in hopes for what will feel like a re-opening of the town for all. I would like to this opportunity to thank each of you for helping us thru out the year and being supportive when it was tough to do so. Here is to a better 2021!!
