TOWN OF GREENPORT LOCAL LAW NO. __1_ OF 2023
A LOCAL LAW AMENDING CHAPTER 110, SECTIONS 110-1 and 110-2 OF THE TOWN CODE OF THE TOWN OF GREENPORT, SENIOR CITIZENS EXEMPTION BE IT ENACTED by the Town Board of the Town of Greenport in the County of Columbia (the “Town”) as follows: Section 1. Title of the Local Law. This local law shall be entitled “A Local Law Amending Chapter 110, Sections 110-1 and 110-2 of the Town Code of the Town of Greenport, Senior Citizens Exemption.” Section 2. Authorization. This Local Law to amend the Town Code of the Town of Greenport is enacted pursuant to the authorization established by New York State Municipal Home Rule Law Section 10. Section 3. Purpose. The Town of Greenport finds that due to a changing economy and state guidance on the same the Town needs to update its maximum income for the sliding scale option for the senior citizen real property tax exemption. Section 4. Amendment of Section 110-1 of the Town Code.
Section 5. Severability. If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part of this Local Law shall be adjudged by any Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such judgment shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder thereof, but shall be confined to its operation in said clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part of this Local Law. Section 6. Supersession. Pursuant to the powers granted by the Municipal Home Rule, this Local Law supersedes all provisions of the Town of Greenport Town Code, in so far as such statues are inconsistent with this Local Law and any other laws or regulations of the Town of Greenport are superseded to the extent necessary to give this Local Law full force and effect. All other provisions shall remain the same. Section 7. Effective Date. This Local Law shall take effect immediately upon filing in the office of the Secretary of State in accordance with Municipal Home Rule Law Section 27. TOWN OF GREENPORT
TOWN BOARD MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARING The Town of Greenport will hold a Town Board meeting on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 6:00 PM. preceded by a workshop meeting at 5:00 PM and a Public Hearing at 5:45 at the Greenport Town Hall, 600 Town Hall Drive, Hudson, New York . The Public Hearing will be in regards to raising the maximum income level for the sliding scale option for the senior citizen real property tax exemption. The Town is allowing people to join us in person. Water is off in the area of Healy Boulevard, Town Hall Drive, the entire strip mall containing Planet Fitness (Fairview Plaza), Dunkin Donuts and Burger King. The outage also includes the section of the strip mall containing Aim to Please and the Bank of Greene County. It is anticipated that the repair will taken 5-6 hours with water being restored around lunchtime. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Do to construction, the Greenport Town Hall will be closing at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11th , 2023. We will reopen on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 8:00 A.M.
The Greenport Historical Society will hold their annual Board Meeting on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at The Community Center at 500 Town Hall Drive from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m..

Resolution #5-2023- to retain the Metz-Wood Insurance Agency as broker for NYMIR for the Town. Resolution #6-2023- Annual salaries of elected officials . Resolution #7-2023-that Sharon Zempko receive a stipend for “Music at Sunset”. Resolution #8-2023- That Clark, Patterson, and Lee be re-appointed as Town Engineers. Resolution #9-2023- to give the Greenport Historical Society $1,000 for maintenance and preservation of historically significant documents and materials for the Town of Greenport. Resolution #10-2023- to appropriate $15,000 to the Hudson Area Library. Resolution #11-2023-to re-appoint Barclay, Damon as Town Attorneys Resolution #12-2023-to re-appoint Paige Edelman full time Court Clerk . Resolution #13-2023- that Jennifer Pinkowski be re-appointed Code Enforcement Clerk. Resolution #14-2023-that Jennifer Pinkowski be re-appointed Animal Control Officer for the Town of Greenport . Resolution #15-2023-That the amount of 62.5 cents per mile be paid for official town travel with private vehicles. Resolution #16-2023-That Clarine Kyte be re-appointed Deputy Tax Collector Resolution #17-2023-That Edward Stiffler be re-appointed Chairman of the Planning Board and Robert MacGiffert as Co-Chairman of Planning Board. Resolution #18-2023- To re-appoint Stephen Keyser Officer in Charge of the Greenport Police Department. Resolution #19-2023- That Deborah Mausolf be re-appointed Confidential Administrative Assistant to the Supervisor. Resolution #20-2023- That James Dallas be re-appointed Part-time Code Enforcement/Building Inspector. Resolution #21-2023- That Kati Bell be re-appointed Part-time Court Clerk.
