IF YOU HAVE FINES DUE TO THE COURT A MINIMUM PAYMENT OF $25.00 EVERY 30 DAYS WILL BE ACCEPTED IF YOU CANNOT PAY IN FULL. YOU CAN ALSO PAY ANY AMOUNT OVER THE MINIMUM PAYMENT. If you wish to enter a plea of guilty to your traffic ticket, you must sign "SECTION A-PLEA OF GUILTY" on your ticket and mail it back to the court by the "RETURN BY MAIL BEFORE OR IN PERSON BY" date indicated on the ticket. When you plead guilty it is to the original charge as stated on your ticket. The court cannot reduce your charge, or any possible points associated with pleading guilty to that charge if you enter a plea of guilty.
NOT GUILTY PLEAS & PLEA BY MAIL OPTION:
If you wish to enter a plea of not guilty for your traffic ticket, you must sign the "SECTION B-PLEA OF NOT GUILTY" on your original ticket and send it to the court by the date indicated on your ticket. In lieu of personally appearing in court, you MAY choose to complete the plea by mail process with the Columbia County District Attorney's Office.
