The Town of Greenport will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 5:45 P.M. at the Greenport Town Hall, 600 Town Hall Drive to give residents a chance to express their feeling for or against Local Law #2 and Local Law #3 regarding Highway snow emergencies being called in the Town and rules pertaining to parking on Town roads in the event of a pending storm and during the storm. The Workshop meeting will begin at 5:15 and the regular Town Board meeting will begin at 6:00 P.M. The public is invited to attend the meeting or have the option to join us virtually or by phone. Written comments may be submitted to the Town Board, Attn: Sharon Zempko, Town Clerk at the above address or via email to [email protected] no later than Wednesday, April 6, 2022 P.M.

The Town of Greenport will be flushing hydrants during daytime hours (6:00 am-2:30 pm) beginning Wednesday 4/13/22 through Friday 4/15/22. Flushing will continue during overnight hours (9:00 pm-5:00 am) beginning Sunday 4/17/22 through Thursday 5/5/22. Beginning Monday 5/9/22, flushing will occur during daytime hours, and continue until completed.
Town Supervisor, Kathy Eldridge met with Ken Pruesser from USDA Wildlife Conservation regarding the vultures and the problems they bring. Attached you will find information about the birds and what you can do to help as Ken works with Greenport towards relocation of the birds.
The bins are available at the Greenport Town Hall for Seniors to bring in their papers for shredding. Identity theft occurs everyday. Protect yourself by shredding papers like Bank Statements, Credit Card bills, Legal Documents , anything with passwords, account numbers, etc. The shredding is taking place from Monday, March 14, 2022 to Friday, March 25, 2022. between the hours of 8:00 and 3:00. This service is free.
A snow emergency has been declared for the Town of Greenport starting at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning March 12, 2022 until 12:00 noon on Sunday, March 13, 2022. This means that no vehicles are to be parked on Town of Greenport streets during that time. Vehicles are subject to being towed at the owners expense.
The Assessor's office will be closed the week of March 7th and will re-open March 14th at 9am.
The regularly scheduled Town Board meeting that was cancelled on March 2, 2022 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Greenport Town Hall, 600 Town Hall Drive, Hudson, New York. We will be discussing smoking on Town property and clarify our snow emergency law. Also, our Summer park program.
Please be advised that crews will be repairing a water break in the vicinity of 147 Fairview Avenue. It appears the break is on the old water line and should affect only Key Bank, Smoker’s Choice, Sam’s and 147 Fairview. However, traffic will be affected as there will be lane closures/lane shifts while the repair is taking place. Please keep our workers safe and drive carefully through the area.
We anticipate beginning work mid-morning (waiting for all public utilities to be marked). Thank you for your patience and cooperation. The Greenport Town Hall is closed today, 3-2-2022 because of sewer backup. The Town Board meeting originally scheduled for tonight has been moved to Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 6:00 P.M.
