Mandatory Service Line Inspections have Commenced

In accordance with the Federal Lead and Copper Rule Revisions that went into effect on December 16, 2021, the Town of Greenport Water Department is in the process of developing a service line inventory of all homes and businesses in the Water District.  As such, every property must be inspected by a Water Department employee to determine if the water service is lead, copper, galvanized or plastic.  During this inspection (which will take place between 8 am-2 pm weekdays and take 5 minutes or less), a photo will be taken and an inspection report completed, with the property owner receiving a copy of this report.
