TOWN OF GREENPORT
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND TOWN BOARD MEETING Please take notice that the Town of Greenport will hold a Public Hearing at 5:45 P.M. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 preceded by a workshop meeting at 5:00 P.M. and followed by a regular Board meeting at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Greenport Town Hall, 600 Town Hall Drive, Hudson, New York. The Public Hearing will be to present Local Law #3-2024 which will give authorization to the County of Columbia to separately itemize on the Town of Greenport Property Tax Bill, all taxes levied on behalf of the Hudson Area Association Library by the Town of Greenport under the provision of chapter 414 of NYS law. It is in the best interest of the taxpayers of the Town of Greenport to be informed on their local real property tax bills of the amount which is to be levied for such purposes. The Town will be able to accommodate in-person public attendance at this meeting, however, interested parties are afforded the opportunity to present public comment in writing or orally during the public broadcast online at meet.google.com/wbd-bsma-bzo or by telephone at (US) +1 405-433-4133, PIN: 924375269. THE TOWN OF GREENPORT IN COLUMBIA COUNTY is seeking applications for the
position of SOLE APPOINTED ASSESSOR. Greenport has approximately 1,883 parcels which includes 236 commercial, recreation/entertainment, community service and industrial parcels. Successful candidate must be certified by the State of New York, have a good knowledge of real property valuation, be able to process transfers and review deeds for accuracy, administer real property tax exemptions mandated by NYS, attend grievance & SCAR hearings, testify in court regarding assessments and any related work as required. The ability to work well with the public is a must. Salary is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
