The Final Assessment Roll for 2010-11 was filed with the Town Clerk on July 1, 2010.
It now almost certain that the STAR rebate check program will not be continued in 2010, however, the STAR exemption will remain
Columbia County Assessment information is now available online. To check assessments go to the Columbia County link below, the Link to assessment information is right on the startup page. Properties can be accessed by tax map number or location only.
The Greenport revaluation project continues to be ontime. I expect to have another taxpayer meeting in early August and mail the inventory data mailers in September. These data mailers are VERY IMPORTANT because the information will be used to determine assessed values for 2011.
Because I am responsible for determining and maintaining assessments, property inventory records, ownership interest and maps on 1895 parcels in the Town, I am reviewing property inventories parcel by parcel for accuracy, including the review of prior year deeds to verify the accuracy of ownership. You may review your parcel inventory information by visiting my office.
Additionally, if you have an address change, I am responsible to see that it is correctly entered for all future tax bills. Changes can be made by phone or email. However, I can not remove an owners name without substantial proof.
